Ans: Let your ruddy mouth be kept shut.

➣➣ Narration Changes:

1. “Are the trains very crowded on these lines ?” Lady Lal asked. [Change the mode of Narration]

Ans: Lady Lal wanted to know where the trains were very crowded on these lines.

2. “Are you travelling alone, sister ?” the coolie said to Lady Lal. [Change the mode of Narration]

Ans: Addressing Lady Lal as sister, the coolie asked if she was travelling alone.

3. “Get the nigger out,” he muttered to his companion. [Change the mode of Narration]

Ans: He muttered to his companion to get the nigger out.

4. “Where does the zenana stop ?” asked Lady Lal. [Change the mode of Narration]

Ans: Lady Lal wanted to know where the zenena stopped.

5. “You are a bit of all right, old chap,” it said. [Change the mode of Narration]

Ans: It told the old chap that he was a bit of all right.

6. “Keep yer ruddy mouth shut !” Jim said to Sir Mohan. [Change the mode of Narration]

Ans: Jim commanded Sir Mohan to keep his ruddy mouth shut.

7. “Preposterous, preposterous,” he shouted, hoarse with anger. [Change the mode of Narration]

Ans: He shouted, hoarse with anger, that it was preposterous.

8. “You are so very much like everything else in this country, inefficient, dirty, indifferent,” he murmured. [Change the mode of Narration]

Ans: He murmured that it was very much like everything else in that country, inefficient, dirty, indifferent.

9. The coolie said to her, “These days all trains are crowded, but you'll find room in the zenana.”[Change the mode of Narration]

➣➣Transformation of sentences:

1. He came up to her once in a while at night and stayed for a few minutes. [Turn into a simple sentence]

Ans: He, coming up to her once in a while at night, stayed for a few minutes.

2. The soldiers caught Sir Mohan Lal by the arms and flung him out of the train. [Turn into a simple sentence]

Ans: On catching Sir Mohan by the arms the soldiers flung him out of the train.

3. Lady Lal picked up her brass tiffin-carrier and ambled along behind him. [Turn into a simple sentence]

Ans: Lady Lal, by picking up her brass tiffin-carrier, ambled along behind her.

4. He would retire to his corner by the window and get out a copy of ‘ The Times’. [Turn into a simple sentence]

Ans: The train arrived but it couldn't distrub Sir Mohan Lal's sang-froid.
