My Favourite Season ( Monsoon / Rainy season) : Paragraph writing

MY FAVOURITE SEASON :  MONSOON

As variety in life is essential for happiness, there is diversity in nature as well. Nature changes its appearance and attribute with the advent of every season. Of all seasons, my favourite is rainy season or monsoon. It’s a season that brings much-needed relief from the scorching heat and makes the surroundings come alive. The season has a span of three months, from June to August. In our country, the rainy season is initiated by monsoon wind.

In this season the sky remains overcast. There are frequent showers accompanied with thunder and lightning. Often it rains incessantly for hours. The heat of summer dries out the earth and plants. They seem lifeless. Rain shower rejuvenates them.

When the rains arrive, it’s like the whole world transforms. The trees and plants become greener, and the air becomes fresher. Dried up rivers, lakes and ponds are replenished. The earthy smell of wet soil is something that I find very comforting. The sound of raindrops falling on the roof or on the leaves of the trees is music to my ears. It’s a calming sound that helps me relax and unwind after a long day.

The rain is of great importance to the farmers. They start cultivation. Rice, our staple food, is chiefly cultivated in this season.  Rain helps the crop to grow and bloom. Good rain helps our economy to flourish.

Of course, the monsoon season can also bring its fair share of challenges. Rural roads get slushy. Settlements in low lands get water logged. In metropolis, heavy rain often leaves the traffic stranded. Sometimes it brings flood causing loss of lives and properties and many diseases are transmitted through mosquitoes, water, air, and contaminated food in this season.

But for me, the positives of the monsoon season far outweigh the negatives. It’s a season that fills me with joy, happiness, and a sense of renewal. The monsoon season is truly a magical time of year, and I look forward to it every year.

Thank You 🙏
