Ans: Dhyan Chand's father was a military man and played hockey for the army. Due to his father’s service, his family had to frequently move to the different places where his father was transferred, and that caused Dhyan Chand's schooling to suffer.

5. What did Dhyan Chand's opponents think when they first saw his skill with the hockey stick?
Ans:  Dhyan Chand could control the ball so well with his hockey stick that his opponents thought that there was some mischief at work. The Dutchman broke his stick to check if there was a magnet inside. The Japanese thought there was glue on his hockey stick.

Ans: After reading this chapter, I think the essential qualities that a good sportsman must have are:

First of all, he should never lose his temper on the field and should be dedicated to his sport.

Secondly, he should respect his teammates.

Thirdly, he should never show off his talent.
