IMPORTANCE OF READING NEWSPAPER

A newspaper is the history of one day of the world. It is the most popular and powerful news medium that brings the whole world to our dining-room. Modern newspaper had its beginning in the Venice in the form of hand written news sheets. Newspapers inform is of the goings-on in the present day world. They  give us news of home and abroad, speeches of politicians, reports of sports and the states, reviews of films and books and information on advertisements. They are also articles on industry and agriculture. Indeed they bring the news of all and for all. Newspapers educate people, enlighten and shape public opinion and compel the government to keep itself from wrong policy by communicating, criticizing and interpreting news. They publish the articles written by scholars. So a regular reader can know the recent trends in language, literature, science, economy, sociology, politics and what not. A newspaper is truly a miniature mirror of the globe. Today newspapers are not always free to express impartial news since they are controlled by political parties or business magnates. But everybody likes a neutral newspaper and not be misled by the distorted or false news. However, reading newspaper is a healthy habit. The students should cultivate this good habit from their childhood.
