MY FAVOURITE SEASON :  MONSOON As variety in life is essential for happiness, there is diversity in nature as well. Nature changes its appearance and attribute with the advent of every season. Of all seasons, my favourite is rainy season or monsoon. It’s a season that brings much-needed relief from the scorching heat and makes the surroundings come alive. The season has a span of three months, from June to August. In our country, the rainy season is initiated by monsoon wind.  In this season the sky remains overcast. There are frequent showers accompanied with thunder and lightning. Often it rains incessantly for hours. The heat of summer dries out the earth and plants. They seem lifeless. The test examination is going to be over on XXth November 20XX. But entire syllabus of some of the subjects especially History, Geography, Physical Science are yet to be completed. MY FAVOURITE SEASON Nature has adorned Bengal with a garland of six seasons, each with beauties of its own. Bengal appears in different costumes in different seasons. Of course, the summer and the monsoon cover greater part of the year. The winter lasts for a short while. Winter follows Autumn, the king of seasons and precedes Spring,  the most pleasant season. It sets in from the end of November and lasts till February. As the climate of West Bengal is mainly tropical, we do not always see snowfall ever in the Darjeeling hills but it does not mean that winter in West Bengal is devoid of all charm. Winter is not severely felt in Bengali and it is not of long duration either. Winter is welcome in this tropical zone. It is the season of cold and snow.
